Banjo Catfish are unique, bottom-dwelling fish with a flat, elongated body that resembles a banjo. These slow-moving, nocturnal creatures prefer to stay hidden under rocks or substrate during the day, making them an interesting addition to peaceful aquariums.
Minimum Tank Requirements:
- Tank Size: 60 litres or more
- Temperature: 22-28°C
- pH: 6.0-7.5
Tankmates:
Best kept with other peaceful, non-aggressive fish such as small tetras, rasboras, and Corydoras. Avoid larger or territorial species.
Diet:
Omnivorous. They primarily scavenge for food, so feed them sinking pellets, live or frozen foods like bloodworms, and occasional vegetable matter.
Care Tips:
Banjo Catfish need hiding spots such as caves or plants to feel secure. They are nocturnal, so you may only see them actively feeding or swimming at night.
