Origin: Native to the Rio Iriri, a major tributary of the Rio Xingú in Brazil.Size: Grows to approximately 20 to 24 cm (8 to 9.5 inches) in standard length. Distinguishing Features: Compared to regular gold nuggets (like L018), the Queen variant features larger golden spots and wider, more intense yellow edges along its dorsal and caudal fins. Note that as they mature into adults, these bright fin seams tend to fade and reduce in prominence.

Tank Requirements- Minimum Tank Size: 55 to 75 gallons (200-280L) for a single adult due to their eventual size and bio load.

Water Temperature: 25–30°C (77–86°F). They require warmer water than a standard community tank to support their metabolism and digestion.

Water Parameters: pH of 6.4–7.5, with soft to moderately hard water.

Flow and Filtration: Strong current and high oxygenation are mandatory to mimic their fast-flowing river habitat. Robust external filtration with regular water changes is necessary because they produce significant waste.

Decor: Smooth rocks, slate, and secure caves for hiding. Anchor rocks securely, as these fish are surprisingly strong and can shift loose substrate or decor.
